| NAME: Fuyumine Naoto SEX: Female AGE: Unknown; late teens to early twenties Always dressed simply (generally with a large black coat worn over the outfit) and just as content to keep to herself, Naoto may seem like just your average young woman-- but her skills with blade-wielding and the x-shaped scar on her chest bely that. Naoto can't remember anything before one fateful night when she was just a little girl. She and her parents were attacked by a person wielding a katana, who took all three of them down with a slash in the shape of an x. Both of her parents were killed, but Naoto was found and saved by a man who carried the same katana as the one that had felled her and left her with that scar for the rest of her days. Drawing on her hate and anger towards the one who had destroyed her past, the man (Fuyumine) taught the amnesiac girl how to fight, sparring with her and showing her the proper way to attack and find openings. He also gave her the name Naoto, as she couldn't remember her own. Gradually, Naoto grew stronger and more adept with a blade (as a knife was her main weapon). Naoto continued to grow as a fighter, but then returned one day only to discover that Magato, another student, had killed Fuyumine and was gloating over his victory and his and Naoto's supposed liberation. In a furious rage, she attacked him and, after a swift battle that demonstrated her speed and quick wits, she triumphed and delivered the final blow. Beaten and bloodied, a gravely wounded Magato told her that the TRUE murderer was another Naoto and that this person was "down below". Soon after, he departed and Naoto took up Fuyumine's blade and set off on a search to find the true killer. Personality-wise, Naoto is driven by revenge, but it's more than that. It's a fierce curiosity and a yearning for the truth. It's a need to remember her past and "that person". She has a feeling that what she forgot was important, but she can't remember why and to live without knowing your own importance-- without knowing everything about yourself... to her, that's just as bad as dying-- or worse. She's a good worker and she's kinder than she looks, stepping in to defend innocent people, but she can be merciless when required to-- and with her speed and fighting skills, if you mess with Naoto, you're in definite trouble. And, of course, she's highly stubborn, which tends to drive the people around her just a little crazy. She's a very serious girl who could stand to lighten up some. Since arriving on the island, though, a very drywall sense of humor has made itself known and Naoto has finally realized that she doesn't have to go through life alone anymore. |
